Canada plans to achieve zero plastic waste by 2030. Its initiative to ban six single-use plastic items has been criticized but is a first-step in moving towards a circular economy. As Jeyan Jeganathan explains, if this plan is successful, Canada would divert 90 per cent of its discarded plastic away from landfills and back into the recycling system.
